Abstract

Based on the results of Podes 2018, in D.I. Yogyakarta there are 438 village-level government administrative areas consisting of 392 villages and 46 urban villages. These areas are spread across 78 sub-districts and 5 districts/cities in D.I. Yogyakarta. A total of 350 villages/kelurahan (79.91 percent) are located in plain areas, and 88 villages/kelurahan are located on slopes/peak areas.

Indeks Pembangunan Desa (IPD) shows the level of village development with the status of underdeveloped, developing, and independent villages. The results of the IPD calculation show that there are 234 villages in D.I. Yogyakarta with developing village status (59.69 percent) and 158 villages with independent village status (40.31 percent). There are no villages in D.I. Yogyakarta with the status of underdeveloped villages.

IPD is compiled based on five dimensions, namely the Basic Service Dimension, the Infrastructure Condition Dimension, the Transportation Dimension, the Public Service Dimension, and the Village Government Implementation Dimension. All dimensions that compose the IPD D.I. Yogyakarta in 2018 experienced an increase when compared to 2014, except for the Basic Services Dimension which experienced a decrease of 1.94 points. The dimension that experienced the highest increase was the Village Government Implementation Dimension, which amounted to 6.09 points.
