Abstract

The main patterns of trade distribution in the Special Region of Yogyakarta:

Rice: Producers --> Wholesalers --> Retailers --> End Consumers.

Red chili: Farmers --> Wholesalers --> Retailers --> End Consumers.
Broiler chicken meat: Producers --> Retailers --> End Consumers.
Beef: Producers --> Wholesalers --> Retailers --> End Consumers.
Shallots: Farmers --> Wholesalers --> Retailers --> End Consumers.
Eggs: Producers --> Wholesalers --> Retailers --> End Consumers.
Granulated Sugar: Producers --> Distributors --> Retailers --> End Consumers.
Cooking Oil: Out of Province --> Distributor --> Retail Trader --> End Consumer.

The percentage of Trade and Transportation Margin (MPP) for rice in 2017 was 22.08 percent; red chili 41.16 percent; purebred chicken meat 29.41 percent; beef 22.63 percent; shallots 47.86 percent; eggs 26.48 percent; sugar 18.42 percent; and cooking oil 18.98 percent.
