Abstract

The export value of D.I. Yogyakarta in May 2019 reached US$38.7 million, an increase of 16.92 percent compared to the previous month. Cumulatively, the export value from January to May 2019 reached US$173.2 million or decreased by 6.43 percent compared to the same period in 2018.
During the January - May 2019 period, the United States, Germany, and Japan became the largest market share reaching 56.81 percent.
Non-knitted Apparel; Furniture, Home Lighting; and Knitted Goods were the three commodity groups with the highest export value in May 2019 at US$11.7 million; US$5.5 million; and US$4.3 million, respectively.
The largest increase in exports in May 2019 against April 2019 occurred in Essential Oils, Perfumed Cosmetics by 1.3 million (162.50 percent). Meanwhile, the largest decrease occurred in Non-Knitted Apparel by US$0.4 million (3.31 percent).
The import value of D.I. Yogyakarta in May 2019 reached US$5.4 million, down 44.90 percent compared to the previous month. Cumulatively, the import value from January to May 2019 reached US$35.5 million, down 4.57 percent compared to the same period in 2018.
During the January - May 2019 period, Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan were the largest supplier countries of imports reaching 74.36 percent.
Artificial Filament; Cotton; and Specially Woven Fabrics were the three commodity groups with the highest export value in May 2019.
