Abstract

Yogyakarta City in July 2019 experienced inflation of 0.05 percent due to an increase in the consumer price index of the foodstuff group up 0.70 percent; the processed food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group rose 0.10 percent; the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group rose 0.17 percent; the clothing group rose 0.82 percent; the health group rose 0.90 percent; the education, recreation and sports group rose 0.06. While the transport, communication and financial services group fell -1.51 percent.
From 82 cities that calculated the inflation rate, 55 CPI cities experienced inflation and 27 CPI cities experienced deflation, the highest inflation occurred in Sibolga City at 1.88 percent, followed by Tanjung Pandan City and Bau-Bau at 1.23 percent and 1.18 percent respectively, while the lowest inflation occurred in Makassar City at 0.01 percent, followed by Yogyakarta and Depok which each reached 0.05 percent. The largest deflation occurred in Tual City which reached 1.55 percent and the smallest deflation occurred in Gorontalo City at 0.02 percent.
The calendar inflation rate (July 2019 against December 2018) was 1.79 percent and the year on year inflation rate (July 2019 against July 2018) was 2.59 percent.
