Indonesia Democracy Index of Yogyakarta Special Region in 2018

Abstract

In 2018, the Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) for the D.I. Yogyakarta was recorded at 80.82. This figure shows a decrease of 2.79 points compared to the IDI figure in 2017 which amounted to 83.61.
When compared to the conditions in 2017, there are two aspects that have decreased, namely the Civil Liberties Aspect and the Political Rights Aspect. The Aspects of Democratic Institutions showed an increase compared to the conditions a year earlier.
The Civil Liberties aspect decreased to 90.60. The Political Rights aspect decreased to 75.07. Meanwhile, the Democratic Institutions aspect increased to 77.66.
In the calculation of the 2018 IDI figures, there are three variables that show a decrease in value. The three variables are: Freedom of Belief, Political Participation in Decision Making and Monitoring, and the Role of DPRD.
