Abstract

Yogyakarta City in August 2019 experienced inflation of 0.07 percent due to an increase in the consumer price index of the processed food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group up 0.23 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group up 0.32 percent; clothing group up 1.32 percent; health group up 0.20 percent; education, recreation and sports group up 2.00. Meanwhile, the foodstuff group fell -0.40 percent and the transport, communication and financial services group fell -1.36 percent.
82 cities calculated the inflation rate, 44 CPI cities experienced inflation and 38 CPI cities experienced deflation, the highest inflation occurred in Kudus City at 0.82 percent followed by Manokwari City and Watampone at 0.81 percent and 0.72 percent respectively, while the lowest inflation occurred in Parepare City, Madiun and Tasikmalaya which each reached 0.04 percent. The largest deflation occurred in Bau-Bau City which reached 2.10 percent followed by Kendari City and Manado which reached 1.56 percent and 1.50 percent respectively.
The calendar inflation rate (August 2019 against December 2018) amounted to 1.87 percent and the year on year inflation rate (August 2019 against August 2018) amounted to 2.94 percent.
