Export and Import Development of D.I. Yogyakarta, August 2019

Abstract

The export value of D.I. Yogyakarta in August 2019 reached US$33.5 million, down 4.29 percent compared to the previous month. Cumulatively, the export value from January to August 2019 reached US$264.3 million or decreased by 6.11 percent compared to the same period in 2018.
During the period January - August 2019, the United States, Germany, and Japan became the largest export market share reaching 57.43 percent.
Non-knitted Apparel; Furniture, Home Lighting; and Leather Goods were the three commodity groups with the highest export value in August 2019 at US$11.4 million; US$4.8 million; and US$3.0 million, respectively.
The largest increase in exports in August 2019 against July 2019 occurred in Plastics and Plastic Goods and Poultry Feathers each by 30.00 percent.
The import value of D.I. Yogyakarta in August 2019 reached US$10.1 million, up 26.25 percent compared to the previous month. Cumulatively, the import value from January to August 2019 reached US$58.1 million or decreased by 4.13 percent compared to the same period in 2018.
During the January - August 2019 period, Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan became the largest supplier countries of imports, reaching 70.40 percent.
Artificial Filament; Cotton; and Specially Woven Fabrics were the three commodity groups with the highest import value in the January - August 2019 period at US$1.8 million; US$0.8 million; and US$0.6 million, respectively.
