Abstract

The economy of the D.I. Yogyakarta as measured by the value of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices in the third quarter of 2019 reached IDR 36.24 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached IDR 26.68 trillion.
  • The DIY economy in the third quarter of 2019 against the third quarter of 2018 grew 6.01 percent (y-on-y) lower than the growth in the second quarter of 2019 which amounted to 6.77 percent, and also slightly lower than the same period in 2018 which grew 6.04 percent. When compared to the second quarter of 2019, the DIY economy grew by 4.87 percent (q-to-q). 
  • In terms of business fields, the highest growth (y-on-y) was achieved by the business field of providing accommodation and eating and drinking at 8.93 percent. Furthermore, information and communication at 8.77 percent and construction at 8.46 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was the gross fixed capital formation component at 6.48 percent, followed by household consumption expenditure at 4.50 percent, and consumption expenditure of private non-profit institutions at 4.18 percent.
  • The largest share of DIY economic growth in the third quarter of 2019 (y-on-y) was given by the information and communication business sector at 0.96 percent, followed by construction at 0.88 percent and provision of accommodation and food and drink at 0.86 percent. From the expenditure side, the largest share of growth was contributed by the household consumption expenditure component, followed by gross fixed capital formation.
  • Meanwhile, the largest contributor to economic growth against the previous quarter (q-to-q) was the agriculture, forestry and fisheries business sector, which amounted to 0.86 percent. The next largest growth share was the provision of accommodation and food and beverages at 0.71 percent, followed by information and communication at 0.59 percent.
