Abstract

The export value of Yogyakarta Special Region in May 2021 reached US$39.3 million, down 10.88 percent compared to April 2021 exports. Cumulatively, the export value from January to May 2021 reached US$215.8 million, up 40.86 percent compared to the same period in 2020.
The largest exports in May 2021 were sent to the United States, amounting to US$16.4 million. Followed by Germany with US$3.5 million and Japan with US$3.3 million. During January-May 2021, the contribution of the three countries reached 59.03 percent.
Non-knitted Apparel (62); Furniture, Home Lighting (94); and Knitted Goods (61) were the three commodity groups with the highest export value in May 2021. They amounted to US$12.6 million, US$5.1 million, and US$3.7 million, respectively.
The import value of Yogyakarta Special Region in May 2021 reached US$16.0 million or increased by 15.11 percent compared to April 2021. Cumulatively, the import value from January to May 2021 reached US$65.7 million, up 35.19 percent compared to the same period in 2020.
The largest supplier of imported goods in May 2021 was the United States with a value of US$5.2 million. Then followed by China US$2.9 million; and Hong Kong US$2.6 million.
The top three import commodity groups in May 2021 were Locomotives and Railway Equipment (86) amounting to US$4.9 million. Then Coffee, Tea and Spices (09) amounting to US$2.2 million and Artificial Filaments (54) amounting to US$1.7 million.
