Abstract

  • Open unemployment rate (TPT) of 3.73 percent
  • Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) was 74.68 percent.
  • In February 2022, the total labor force in D.I. Yogyakarta was 2.24 million people. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) was 74.68 percent, an increase of 1.87 percentage points compared to February 2021.
  • The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in February 2022 was 3.73 percent, a decrease of 0.55 percentage points compared to February 2021 (4.28 percent).
  • The working population of D.I. Yogyakarta is 2.15 million people, a decrease of 47.21 thousand people from February 2021. Employment fields that experienced an increase in percentage were mainly in the Provision of Accommodation and Drinking Food (3.26 percent points), Transportation and Warehousing (1.35 percent points), and Education (1.15 percent points). Meanwhile, employment that experienced a decline was mainly in Manufacturing Industry (2.83 percent points), Government Administration, Defense, and Compulsory Social Security (1.49 percent points), and Wholesale and Retail Trade (1.18 percent points).
  • A total of 1.23 million people (57.31 percent) work in informal activities, an increase of 0.15 percentage points compared to February 2021 of 57.15 percent.
  • Most of the working population are full-time workers (67.01 percent), while part-time workers are 27.50 percent and underemployed 5.49 percent.
  • A total of 9.39 percent of the working-age population affected by Covid-19 (281.34 thousand people), consisting of unemployment due to Covid-19 (9.04 thousand people), not the labor force (BAK) due to Covid-19 (8.38 thousand people), while not working due to Covid-19 (28.65 thousand people), and the working population who experienced a reduction in working hours due to Covid-19 (235.27 thousand people).
