Farmer Term of Trade and Producer Price of Paddy in D.I. Yogyakarta, May 2024

Abstract

The Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) of D.I. Yogyakarta in May 2024 was 101.79, down 1.18 percent compared to the previous month which was recorded at 103.01.
The producer price of paddy at the farmer level in D.I. Yogyakarta in May 2024 for the quality of Dry Milled Paddy (GKG) was IDR 5,910.00 per kg, down 14.38 percent compared to the previous month of IDR 6,902.44 per kg. The quality of Harvested Dry Paddy (GKP) fell by 14.34 percent, from IDR 5,782.76 per kg to IDR 5,616.00 per kg in May 2024.
NTP D.I. Yogyakarta in May 2024 reached 101.79, down 1.18 percent compared to the previous month of 103.01. The Farmer Exchange Rate for the food crop subsector was 96.78; horticulture subsector 130.87; smallholder plantation subsector 109.33; livestock subsector 102.35; and fisheries subsector 88.75.
The decrease in the combined NTP index this month was influenced by the decline in three subsectors, namely: food crops by 3.25 percent; smallholder plantation crops by 0.17 percent; and fisheries by 0.56 percent. Meanwhile, two subsectors increased, namely horticulture by 4.65 percent and livestock by 0.83 percent. The Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) of D.I. Yogyakarta in May 2024 was recorded at 105.73, down 1.31 percent compared to the previous month of 107.13.
The rural Consumer Price Index (CPI) in D.I. Yogyakarta in May 2024 generally reached 127.84, experiencing deflation of 0.13 percent compared to the CPI in the previous month which was recorded at 128.01.
Of the 38 provinces in May 2024, the NTP in 16 provinces increased while 22 provinces decreased. The highest increase in NTP occurred in West Nusa Tenggara at 2.17 percent, while the largest decrease in NTP occurred in West Sulawesi at 3.13 percent.
The highest price of grain at the farmer level for GKG quality grain worth IDR 6,500.00 per kg with the Ciherang and IR-64 varieties is in Sleman Regency. The highest price at the farmer level for GKP quality grain worth IDR 5,800.00 per kg with the Ciherang, Inpari and Situ Bagendit varieties is in Bantul Regency. The lowest price of grain at the farmer level worth IDR 5,400.00 per kg for GKP quality grain with the Inpari and IR-64 varieties is in Kulon Progo Regency.
During May 2024, the average price of GKG at the farmer level was IDR 5,910.00 per kg, down 14.38 percent, and at the milling level IDR 5,993.33 per kg, down 14.34 percent. The average price of GKP at the farmer level was IDR 5,616.00 per kg, down 2.88 percent, and at the milling level IDR 5,666.00 per kg, down 2.97 percent compared to the price of the same quality of grain in the previous month. The average price of non-quality grain in this period was absent because there was no non-quality grain in all observation units. Paddy based on varieties produced and sold by farmers in May 2024, Inpari variety was 36.36 percent, IR-64 was 29.09 percent, Ciherang was 14.54 percent, Supadi was 10.91 percent, Situ Bagendit was 3.64 percent, Ciamis, Mapan, and Mutiara were each 1.82 percent.
