Development of the Gunungkidul Regency Consumer Price Index in May 2024

Abstract

In May 2024, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Gunungkidul Regency of 1.96 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.31.
The y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in most expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 4.90 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 0.85 percent; the household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 1.61 percent; the health group by 2.24 percent; the transportation group by 0.02 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.78 percent; the education group by 0.07 percent; the food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 0.38 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 4.09 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index were: the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.09 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.16 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate in Gunungkidul Regency in May 2024 was 0.12 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate in Gunungkidul Regency in May 2024 was 0.41 percent.
