Gunungkidul Regency experienced economic growth of 5.37 percent.

March 17, 2023 | BPS Activities

Today, (16/03). Head of BPS Gunungkidul Regency Rintang Awan Eltribakti Umbas delivered the latest data in front of the Regent of Gunungkidul and his staff. In his presentation, Eltri conveyed economic growth data for Gunungkidul Regency in 2022 of 5.37 percent compared to 2021.

This figure increased compared to the previous year which only reached 5.29 percent (yoy).

The economic improvement of Gunungkidul was driven by the stretching of the agricultural and other services sectors where both sectors contributed 1.73 percent of the economic growth of 5.37 percent. "Other service business fields are growing so rapidly, where there are tourism services which we all know are increasingly passionate". Eltri said.

Nevertheless, 24.03 percent of Gunungkidul's economy is still supported by agriculture. This means that the agricultural sector plays an important role in the economy of Gunungkidul Regency. Therefore, special attention needs to be paid to agricultural actors. "The economy of Gunungkidul is still supported by agriculture, so local government interventions in agriculture greatly determine regional economic performance". Eltri concluded.
