Abstract

Yogyakarta City in January 2019 experienced inflation of 0.42 percent due to an increase in the consumer price index of the foodstuff group up 0.62 percent; processed food group up 0.38 percent; housing group up 0.28 percent; clothing group up 0.53 percent; health group up 0.44 percent; education group up 0.10 percent; and transport, communication and financial services group up 0.58 percent.

Of the 82 cities that calculated the inflation rate, 73 CPI cities experienced inflation and 9 CPI cities experienced deflation, the highest inflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan City by 1.23 percent followed by Singkawang by 1.19 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Pematang Siantar City by 0.01 percent, followed by Palopo City by 0.04 percent. The largest deflation occurred in Tual City which reached 0.87 percent, followed by Jambi City at 0.51 percent, while the smallest deflation occurred in Merauke City at 0.01 percent.

The calendar inflation rate (January 2019 against December 2018) amounted to 0.42 percent and the year on year inflation rate (January 2019 against January 2018) was the same at 2.53 percent.
