Abstract

Yogyakarta City in February 2019 experienced deflation of 0.08 percent due to a decrease in the consumer price index of the foodstuff group down 0.86 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group down 0.55 percent. While the processed food group rose 0.36 percent; the housing group rose 0.31 percent; the clothing group rose 0.16 percent; the health group rose 0.28 percent; and the education group rose 0.07 percent.

From 82 cities that calculated the inflation rate, 13 CPI cities experienced inflation and 69 CPI cities experienced deflation, the highest inflation occurred in Tual City at 2.98 percent followed by Pontianak at 0.53 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Kendari City at 0.03 percent, followed by Tanjung Pinang City and Tangerang City at 0.04 percent each. The largest deflation occurred in Merauke City reaching 2.11 percent, followed by Tanjung Pandan City at 0.82 percent, while the smallest deflation occurred in Serang City at 0.02 percent
The calendar inflation rate (February 2019 against December 2018) was 0.34 percent and the year on year inflation rate (February 2019 against February 2018) was 2.50 percent.
