Abstract

Yogyakarta City in April 2019 experienced inflation of 0.46 percent due to an increase in the consumer price index of the foodstuff group up 1.97 percent; the processed food group rose 0.25 percent; the health group rose 0.09 percent; the education and recreation group rose 0.02 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group rose 0.28. Meanwhile, the housing group fell 0.08 percent; and the clothing group fell 0.03 percent.
Of the 82 cities that calculated the inflation rate, 77 CPI cities experienced inflation and 5 CPI cities experienced deflation, the highest inflation occurred in Medan City at 1.30 percent followed by Merauke City at 1.20 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Pare-Pare City at 0.01 percent, followed by Samarinda and Sorong which reached 0.07 percent and 0.13 percent respectively. The largest deflation occurred in Manado City reaching 1.27 percent, followed by Manokwari City at 0.55 percent, while the smallest deflation occurred in Maumere City at 0.04 percent.
The calendar inflation rate (April 2019 against December 2018) was 1.06 percent and the year on year inflation rate (April 2019 against April 2018) was 2.98 percent.
