Abstract

Yogyakarta City in October 2019 experienced inflation of 0.18 percent due to an increase in the consumer price index of the processed food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.24 percent; the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group rose 0.21 percent; the clothing group rose 0.29 percent; the health group rose 0.15 percent; the education, recreation and sports group rose 1.41 percent and the transport, communication and financial services group rose 0.12 percent. Meanwhile, the foodstuff group fell by 0.45 percent.

82 cities calculated the inflation rate, 43 CPI cities experienced inflation and 39 CPI cities experienced deflation, the highest inflation occurred in Manado City at 1.22 percent, followed by Manokwari and Tanjung Cities at 0.88 percent and 0.78 percent respectively, while the lowest inflation occurred in Ternate City, Tual and Pematang Siantar which each reached 0.01 percent. The largest deflation occurred in Balikpapan City which reached -0.69 percent followed by Kendari City and Tembilahan which each reached -0.59 percent.

The calendar inflation rate (October 2019 against December 2018) amounted to 1.98 percent and the year on year inflation rate (October 2019 against October 2018) amounted to 3.04 percent.
