Abstract

  • In March 2021, the level of inequality in the expenditure of the population of D.I. Yogyakarta has increased. This condition is reflected in the Gini ratio in March 2021 which was recorded at 0.441 or an increase of 0.004 points compared to September 2020 which was 0.437.
  • The Gini ratio increases in both urban and rural areas. In urban areas, the Gini ratio was recorded at 0.448, an increase of 0.009 points in the last semester. Meanwhile, in rural areas, the Gini ratio in March 2021 was 0.334, an increase of 0.005 points compared to September 2020.
  • Based on the World Bank's criteria, in March 2021, the level of inequality in D.I. Yogyakarta is still in the category of moderate inequality. This is reflected in the percentage of expenditure in the lowest 40 percent of the population, which amounts to 15.44 percent of the total expenditure of the D.I. population. Yogyakarta.
