The Development of Consumer Price Index / Inflation in September 2021

Abstract

Yogyakarta City in September 2021 experienced deflation of 0.17 percent due to a decrease in the consumer price index for the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.01 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.02 percent; and the transportation group by 0.17 percent. The groups experiencing inflation are housing, water, electricity, and household fuel by 0.11 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.15 percent; health group by 0.13 percent; information, communication and financial services group by 0.02 percent; recreation, sports and culture groups by 0.40 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.65 percent. The relatively stable groups are the education group; and groups providing food and beverages/restaurants.
  • In 90 cities with inflation figures calculated, 34 CPI cities experienced inflation and 56 CPI cities experienced deflation.
  • The calendar inflation rate (September 2021 to December 2020) is 0.88 percent and the year on year inflation rate (September 2021 to September 2020) is 1.58 percent.
