The Development of Consumer Price Index / Inflation in September 2021

Yogyakarta City in September 2021 experienced deflation of 0.17 percent due to a decrease in the consumer price index for the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.01 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.02 percent; and the transportation group by 0.17 percent. The groups experiencing inflation are housing, water, electricity, and household fuel by 0.11 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.15 percent; health group by 0.13 percent; information, communication and financial services group by 0.02 percent; recreation, sports and culture groups by 0.40 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.65 percent. The relatively stable groups are the education group; and groups providing food and beverages/restaurants.

In 90 cities with inflation figures calculated, 34 CPI cities experienced inflation and 56 CPI cities experienced deflation.

The calendar inflation rate (September 2021 to December 2020) is 0.88 percent and the year on year inflation rate (September 2021 to September 2020) is 1.58 percent.
