File Size : 5.86 MB

Abstract

In September 2021, the level of expenditure inequality of the population of D.I. Yogyakarta as measured using the gini ratio method was 0.436. This figure decreased by 0.005 points when compared to the March 2021 gini ratio of 0.441.
  • The gini ratio in urban areas in September 2021 was recorded at 0.443 and the value was lower than the March 2021 gini ratio of 0.448. However, the gini ratio figure is still higher than the September 2020 gini ratio of 0.439.
  • The gini ratio in rural areas in September 2021 reached 0.325 and was lower than the March 2021 gini ratio (0.334) and the September 2020 gini ratio (0.329).
  • Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the expenditure distribution in the bottom 40 percent was 15.98 percent. This means that the level of inequality in population expenditure in September 2021 is in the medium inequality category. When broken down by region, in urban areas the figure was recorded at 15.41 percent, which means that it is classified as moderate inequality. Meanwhile, for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 21.00 percent, which means it is classified as low inequality.
