Abstract

  • March 2022 exports reached US$61.3 million, up 29.87 percent compared to the previous month.
  • Imports in March 2022 were valued at US$13.8 million, up 36.63 percent.
  • The export value of Yogyakarta Special Region in March 2022 reached US$61.3 million, an increase of 29.87 percent compared to February 2022. Compared to March 2021, the export value also increased by 29.87 percent.
  • Cumulatively, the export value of the Special Region of Yogyakarta from January to March 2022 reached US$160.4 million, an increase of 21.24 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
  • The largest export in March 2022 was to the United States with US$25.5 million, followed by Germany with US$5.6 million and Japan with US$4.2 million, with the contribution of the three reaching 57.59 percent. Meanwhile, exports to the European Union and ASEAN amounted to US$17.9 million and US$1.3 million, respectively.
  • The largest increase in exports in March 2022 against February 2022 occurred in non-knitted apparel amounting to US$5.3 million (33.13 percent). Meanwhile, the largest decrease occurred in essential oils, perfumed cosmetics by US$1.1 million (44.00 percent).
  • By sector, exports of agricultural products in March 2022 increased by 150.00 percent compared to February 2022. Meanwhile, exports of processing industry products increased by 29.36 percent. Compared to March 2021, exports of agricultural products have the same value. Meanwhile, exports of processing industry products increased by 30.19 percent.
  • According to the province of the port of loading, the largest exports of the Special Region of Yogyakarta in March 2022 were sent through Central Java with a value of US$ 36.4 million (59.38 percent), followed by DKI Jakarta US$ 23.5 million (38.34 percent) and East Java US$ 1.4 million (2.28 percent).
  • The import value of Yogyakarta Special Region in March 2022 reached US$13.8 million, up 36.63 percent compared to February 2022. The value increased by 16.95 percent compared to March 2021. Cumulatively, the import value from January to March 2022 reached US$42.4 million, up 18.11 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
  • The three largest supplier countries of imported goods in March 2022 were China US$4.3 million. Then followed by Hong Kong at US$1.9 million and Papua New Guinea US$1.8 million. The largest increase in imports from Papua New Guinea was US$1.8 million and the largest decrease from China was US$0.6 million (12.24 percent). The three largest supplier countries of imported goods during January-March 2022 were China US$15.1 million (35.61 percent), Hong Kong US$9.4 million (22.17 percent), and Papua New Guinea US$3.8 million (8.96 percent).
  • The top three import commodity groups in March 2022 were artificial filaments at US$3.0 million; coffee, tea, spices at US$1.8 million; and cotton at US$1.3 million. The largest increase in imports of goods groups in March 2022 compared to February 2022 was coffee, tea, spices US$1.8 million. Meanwhile, the largest decrease was cotton US$0.8 million (38.10 percent).
  • According to the use of goods, the value of imports in March 2022 against the same period the previous year increased in raw / auxiliary materials by 17.44 percent. Meanwhile, capital goods rose 114.29 percent. Conversely, the decline occurred in consumer goods by 12.00 percent.
  • The trade balance of the Special Region of Yogyakarta in March 2022 experienced a surplus of US$47.5 million. This value is higher than the same period the previous year which recorded a surplus of US$35.4 million.
