Abstract

  • Exports in August 2022 reached US$46.9 million, down 0.85 percent compared to the previous month.
  • Imports in August 2022 were valued at US$10.5 million, up 11.70 percent.
  • The export value of D.I. Yogyakarta in August 2022 reached US$46.9 million, down 0.85 percent compared to July 2022. Compared to August 2021, the export value increased by 6.83 percent.
  • Cumulatively, the export value of D.I. Yogyakarta from January to August 2022 reached US$401.6 million, up 16.85 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
  • The largest August 2022 exports were to the United States at US$19.6 million, followed by Germany and Australia at US$3.7 million each. The contribution of the three reached 57.57 percent. Meanwhile, exports to the European Union amounted to US$11.7 million and ASEAN amounted to US$1.1 million.
  • The largest decline in exports in August 2022 against July 2022 occurred in paper/cardboard amounting to US$1.3 million (59.09 percent). The second decline was non-knitted apparel at US$1.0 million (5.26 percent) and the third was straw/woven material at US$0.5 million (26.32 percent).
  • By sector, exports of agricultural products in August 2022 fell 33.33 percent compared to July 2022. Meanwhile, exports of processing industry products fell 0.64 percent. Compared to August 2021, exports of agricultural products increased by 100.00 percent. Meanwhile, exports of processing industry products increased by 6.62 percent.
  • According to the province of the port of loading, the largest exports of D.I.Yogyakarta in August 2022 were sent through Central Java with a value of US$31.9 million (68.02 percent), followed by DKI Jakarta US$13.8 million (29.42 percent), East Java US$0.7 million (1.49 percent), and D.I. Yogyakarta US$0.5 million (1.07 percent).
  • The import value of the Special Region of Yogyakarta in August 2022 reached US$10.5 million, up 11.70 percent compared to July 2022. Conversely, when compared to August 2021, the value of imports decreased by 19.85 percent. Cumulatively, the import value from January to August 2022 reached US$95.3 million, down 4.80 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
  • The three largest supplier countries of imported goods in August 2022 were China US$4.7 million. Then followed by Hong Kong with US$1.9 million and Taiwan with US$0.9 million. The largest increase in imports from China was US$1.5 million (46.88 percent) and the largest decrease from South Korea was US$0.5 million (41.67 percent). The three largest supplier countries of imported goods during January-August 2022 were China at 39.03 percent, Hong Kong 20.36 percent and Taiwan 9.44 percent.
  • The top three import commodity groups in August 2022 were artificial filaments amounting to US$2.7 million; special woven fabrics US$1.2 million; and cotton US$0.9 million. The largest increase in imports of goods groups in August 2022 compared to July 2022 was electrical machinery/equipment US$0.4 million (200.00 percent). Meanwhile, the largest decrease was mechanical machinery/aircraft US$0.2 million (66.67 percent).
  • According to the use of goods, the import value in August 2022 against the same period the previous year decreased in consumer goods by 86.96 percent. Likewise, raw / auxiliary materials fell 1.96 percent. Meanwhile, capital goods decreased by 66.67 percent.
  • The trade balance of D.I. Yogyakarta in August 2022 experienced a surplus of US$ 36.4 million. This value is higher than the same period the previous year which recorded a surplus of US$30.8 million.
