Abstract

April 2023, Yogyakarta's year on year (y-o-y) inflation amounted to 5.14 percent. The biggest contributor to inflation was gasoline at 0.82 percent.

In April 2023 there was year on year (y-on-y) inflation of 5.14 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 117.04.

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in most expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 7.05 percent; clothing and footwear group by 2.38 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 2.53 percent; household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 2.75 percent; health group by 5.38 percent; transportation group by 9.56 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 2.08 percent; education group by 3.91 percent; food and beverage supply/restaurant group by 5.48 percent; and personal care and other services group by 6.11 percent. While the group that experienced a decrease in the index was the information, communication, and financial services group by -0.18 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate in April 2023 was 0.22 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate in April 2023 was 1.27 percent.
