Abstract

In August 2023, Yogyakarta's year on year (y-o-y) inflation was 4.08 percent.

In August 2023 there was year on year (y-on-y) inflation of 4.08 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 117.75.

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in most expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 4.82 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.81 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 1.92 percent; household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 1.68 percent; health group by 5.37 percent; transportation group by 7.56 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 1.89 percent; education group by 4.33 percent; food and beverage supply/restaurant group by 5.67 percent; and personal care and other services group by 4.14 percent. While the group that experienced a decrease in the index was the information, communication, and financial services group by -0.38 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate in August 2023 was -0.04 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate in August 2023 was 1.89 percent.
