Abstract

  • June 2023 exports reached US$41.2 million, down 0.72 percent compared to the previous month.
  • Imports in June 2023 were valued at US$8.3 million, down 29.66 percent.
  • The export value of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta in June 2023 reached US$41.2 million, down 0.72 percent compared to May 2023. Compared to June 2022, the export value decreased by 24.82 percent.
  • Cumulatively, the export value of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta from January to June 2023 reached US$232.7 million or decreased by 24.30 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
  • The largest export in June 2023 was to the United States with US$17.3 million, followed by Japan with US$3.6 million and Germany with US$3.4 million. The contribution of the three reached 58.98 percent. Meanwhile, exports to the European Union amounted to US$9.6 million and ASEAN amounted to US$0.9 million.
  • The biggest increase in exports in June 2023 against May 2023 occurred in essential oils, cosmetics fragrances amounting to US$0.8 million. While the largest decrease was furniture, home lighting amounting to US$0.9 million.
  • By sector, exports of agricultural products in June 2023 fell 66.67 percent compared to May 2023. Meanwhile, exports of processing industry products fell 0.24 percent. Compared to June 2022, exports of agricultural products fell 50.00 percent. Meanwhile, exports of processing industry products fell 24.73 percent.
  • According to the province of the port of loading, the largest exports of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta in June 2023 were sent through Central Java by 75.01 percent, followed by DKI Jakarta 22.82 percent, East Java 1.21 percent, and D.I. Yogyakarta 0.97 percent.
  • The import value of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta in June 2023 reached US$8.3 million, down 29.66 percent compared to May 2023. Meanwhile, compared to June 2022, the import value decreased by 25.54 percent. Cumulatively, the import value from January to June 2023 reached US$63.6 million, down 15.64 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
  • The three largest supplier countries of imported goods in June 2023 were China at US$2.5 million, then the United States US$2.4 million and Hong Kong US$1.2 million. The largest decrease in imports from China was US$2.0 million and the largest increase was from the United States US$1.1 million. The largest supplier of imported goods during January-June 2023 was China at US$22.6 million.
  • The top three import commodity groups in June 2023 were knitted fabrics US$1.6 million; locomotives and railroad equipment US$1.1 million; and artificial filaments US$0.7 million. The largest decrease in imports of goods groups in June 2023 compared to May 2023 was knitted fabrics US$1.0 million.
  • According to the use of goods, the value of imports in June 2023 against the same period in the previous year, consumer goods fell by 25.00 percent. While raw / auxiliary materials fell 26.47 percent. Meanwhile, capital goods had the same value.
  • The trade balance of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta in June 2023 experienced a surplus of US$32.9 million. This value is lower than the same period the previous year which recorded a surplus of US$43.7 million.
