Abstract

Exports in August 2023 reached US$40.1 million, up 7.22 percent compared to the previous month.
  • Imports in August 2023 amounted to US$9.2 million, the same as the previous month's imports.
  • The export value of Yogyakarta Special Region in August 2023 reached US$40.1 million, an increase of 7.22 percent compared to July 2023. Compared to August 2022, the export value decreased by 14.50 percent.
  • Cumulatively, the export value of the Special Region of Yogyakarta from January to August 2023 reached US$310.1 million or decreased by 22.76 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
  • The largest August 2023 export was to the United States at US$15.7 million, followed by Germany at US$3.7 million and Japan at US$2.8 million. The contribution of the three reached 55.36 percent. Meanwhile, exports to the European Union amounted to US$10.4 million and ASEAN amounted to US$0.7 million.
  • The biggest increase in exports in August 2023 against July 2023 occurred in paper/cardboard amounting to US$2.5 million. Meanwhile, the largest decline was in non-knitted apparel at US$1.2 million.
  • By sector, exports of agricultural products in August 2023 had the same value compared to July 2023. Meanwhile, exports of processing industry products increased by 7.26 percent. Compared to August 2022, exports of agricultural products had the same value. Meanwhile, exports of processing industry products fell by 14.56 percent.
  • According to the province of the port of loading, the largest exports of the Special Region of Yogyakarta in August 2023 were sent through Central Java by 73.83 percent, followed by DKI Jakarta 24.19 percent, D.I. Yogyakarta 1.25 percent, and East Java 0.75 percent.
