Profile of Poverty in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta on March 2020

Abstract

Based on the results of the March 2020 Susenas, the poverty line in the Special Region (D.I.) of Yogyakarta is Rp 463,479 per capita per month. The poverty line increased 3.11 percent from the conditions in September 2019 which amounted to Rp 449,485 per capita per month.
Food commodities still dominate the formation of the Poverty Line compared to non-food commodities. In March 2020, the Food Poverty Line was recorded at Rp 334,461 per capita per month and its contribution to the Poverty Line was 72.16 percent. While at the same time, the Non-Food Poverty Line was Rp 129,019 per capita per month and contributed 27.84 percent to the Poverty Line.
In March 2020, the number of poor people in D.I. Yogyakarta as many as 475.72 thousand people or 12.28 percent of the total population. There was an increase in the number of poor people as much as 34.8 thousand people compared to the conditions in September 2019, which totaled 440.89 thousand people.
An increase also occurred in the Poverty Depth Index (P1) and Poverty Severity Index (P2) compared to conditions in September 2019.
