Abstract

For March 2019, the poverty line in the D.I. Yogyakarta was IDR 432,026 per capita per month. The poverty line increased by 4.13 percent from September 2018, which amounted to Rp 414,899 per capita per month.

Food commodities still dominate the formation of the Poverty Line compared to non-food commodities. In March 2019, the Food Poverty Line was recorded at IDR 310,947 per capita per month and its contribution to the Poverty Line was 71.97 percent. While at the same time, the Non-Food Poverty Line amounted to Rp 121,079 per capita per month and contributed 28.03 percent to the Poverty Line.

In March 2019, the number of poor people in D.I. Yogyakarta was 448.47 thousand people or 11.70 percent of the total population. There was a decrease in the number of poor people by 1.78 thousand people compared to the conditions in September 2018, which amounted to 450.25 thousand people.

However, there was an increase in the Poverty Depth Index (P1) in March 2019 compared to September 2018. The same condition also occurred in the Poverty Severity Index (P2) which showed an increase.
