Abstract

  • Exports in December 2023 reached US$47.0 million, up 20.51 percent compared to the previous month.
  • Imports in December 2023 were valued at US$12.5 million, down 18.30 percent compared to the previous month.
  • The export value of D.I. Yogyakarta in December 2023 reached US$47.0 million, an increase of 20.51 percent compared to November 2023. Compared to December 2022, the export value decreased by 14.23 percent.
  • Cumulatively, the export value of the D.I Yogyakarta from January to December 2023 reached US$472.3 million or decreased by 19.03 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
  • The largest export in December 2023 was to the United States with US$18.0 million, followed by Japan with US$5.6 million and Germany with US$5.2 million. The contribution of the three reached 61.28 percent. Meanwhile, exports to the European Union amounted to US$10.8 million and ASEAN amounted to US$1.1 million.
  • The largest increase in exports in December 2023 against November 2023 occurred in non-knitted apparel amounting to US$9.2 million. Meanwhile, the largest decline was in leather goods at US$0.9 million.
  • By sector, exports of agricultural products in December 2023 fell by 50.00 percent
  • compared to November 2023. Meanwhile, exports of processing industry products increased by 21.24 percent. Compared to December 2022, exports of agricultural products fell 50.00 percent. Meanwhile, exports of processing industry products fell 13.97 percent.
  • According to the province of the port of loading, the largest exports of the Special Region of Yogyakarta in December 2023 were sent through Central Java by 74.04 percent, followed by DKI Jakarta 24.68 percent, D.I. Yogyakarta 0.85 percent, and East Java 0.43 percent.
  • The import value of the Special Region of Yogyakarta in December 2023 reached US$12.5 million, down 18.30 percent compared to November 2023. Meanwhile, when compared to December 2022, the import value increased by 12.61 percent. Cumulatively, the import value from January to December 2023 reached US$132.1 million, down 9.27 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
  • The three largest supplier countries of imported goods in December 2023 were China at US$5.1 million, then the United States US$2.6 million and Hong Kong US$2.2 million. The largest decrease in imports from the United States was US$2.0 million and the largest increase from China was US$0.6 million. The largest supplier of imported goods during January-December 2023 was China at US$49.2 million.
  • The top three import commodity groups in December 2023 were knitted fabrics at US$2.4 million; locomotives and railroad equipment at US$1.8 million; and coated woven fabrics at US$1.3 million. The largest decrease in imports of goods in December 2023 compared to November 2023 was locomotives and railroad equipment by US$1.7 million.
  • According to the use of goods, the value of imports in December 2023 compared to the same period the previous year, consumer goods increased by 80.00 percent. While raw / auxiliary materials rose 8.65 percent. Meanwhile, capital goods increased by 50.00 percent.
