Abstract

The DIY economy during 2018 grew by 6.20 percent (c-to-c), faster than in 2017 which grew by 5.26 percent. Sectorally, the growth was driven by the construction business which grew by 13.1 percent and mining and quarrying which also grew by 10.6 percent. On the other hand, the main support for expenditure growth was the foreign export component which grew 12.8 percent and gross fixed capital formation which also grew rapidly by 10.2 percent.
  • The economy of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) as measured by the value of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices in 2018 reached Rp129.9 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached Rp98 trillion.
  • The DIY economy in the fourth quarter of 2018 against the fourth quarter of 2017 grew 7.39 percent (y-on-y) much higher than the growth of the same period in 2016 which grew 5.26 percent. Compared to the third quarter of 2018, the DIY economy also grew by 0.66 percent (q-to-q), even though the same period the previous year experienced a contraction.
  • The largest share of DIY economic growth during 2018 (c-to-c) was the construction business field, which amounted to 1.25 percent, followed by information and communication at 0.72 percent and the processing industry at 0.66 percent.
  • Meanwhile, in terms of GRDP expenditure, the largest share of DIY economic growth during 2018 (c-to-c) was still dominated by the components of gross fixed capital formation and household consumption expenditure, amounting to 2.73 percent and 2.37 percent, respectively. as well as foreign exports of 0.67 percent.
