Abstract

The Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) is an indicator of the latest consumer economic development produced by the Central Statistics Agency through the Consumer Tendency Survey (STK). ITK describes the economic conditions of household consumers during the current quarter (current ITK) and the estimated conditions during the next quarter (future ITK).

The ITK of DIY during the first quarter of 2019 reached 115.55. This means that consumers' economic conditions during the current quarter increased more optimistically compared to the previous quarter. DIY consumer optimism was the highest among 34 provinces in Indonesia.

The increase in consumer optimism during the first quarter of 2019 was driven by the three constituent indices. The value of the three indices is at an optimistic level (index> 100).

The ITK value of DIY in the upcoming second quarter of 2019 is estimated to reach 126.65. This means that the estimated economic conditions of consumers during the next quarter will improve better compared to the current quarter.

The increase in the ITK forecast in the second quarter of 2019 will be driven by the two constituent indices which are at an optimistic level.
