Abstract

January 2024, year on year (y-o-y) inflation in Yogyakarta Province amounted to 2.60 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Yogyakarta City at 2.82 percent.
In January 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Yogyakarta Province amounted to 2.60 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.24. Gunungkidul Regency recorded y-on-y inflation of 2.42 percent with a CPI of 104.80 and Yogyakarta City experienced y-on-y inflation of 2.82 percent with a CPI of 105.79.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in most expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 7.13 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.34 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.35 percent; household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.55 percent; health group by 2.73 percent; transportation group by 0.86 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 0.59 percent; education group by 1.72 percent; food and beverage supply/restaurant group by 1.64 percent; and personal care and other services group by 2.15 percent. While the information, communication, and financial services group experienced a decrease in the index of 0.10 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate in January 2024 was 0.02 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate in January 2024 was 0.02 percent.
