Abstract

March 2024, year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province was 2.95 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Gunungkidul Regency at 3.05 percent.
In March 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province was 2.95 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.10. Gunungkidul Regency was recorded to have experienced y-on-y inflation of 3.05 percent with a CPI of 105.56 and Yogyakarta City experienced y-on-y inflation of 2.80 percent with a CPI of 106.74.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in most expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages, and tobacco group by 8.34 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.56 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.23 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 0.70 percent; health group by 2.36 percent; transportation group by 0.75 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 1.15 percent; education group by 1.72 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 1.14 percent; and personal care and other services group by 3.23 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication, and financial services group experienced a decrease in the index by 0.08 percent. The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate in March 2024 was 0.43 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate in March 2024 was 0.80 percent.
