Abstract

Yogyakarta City in May 2021 experienced inflation of 0.07 percent due to an increase in the consumer price index for housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.02 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.07 percent; transportation group by 0.27 percent; recreation, sports and culture groups by 0.26 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.10 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.86 percent. The groups experiencing deflation were the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.17 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.03 percent; health group by 0.02 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.03 percent. The relatively stable group is the education group.

In 90 cities with inflation figures calculated, 78 CPI cities experienced inflation and 12 CPI cities experienced deflation.

The calendar inflation rate (May 2021 to December 2020) is 0.84 percent and the year on year inflation rate (May 2021 to May 2020) is 1.53 percent.
