Abstract

May 2022 inflation amounted to 0.75 percent. The largest share that drove inflation was air transportation, which rose by 14.20 percent.
Yogyakarta City in May 2022 experienced inflation of 0.75 percent due to an increase in the consumer price index of the food group by 1.81 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.20 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.12 percent; household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.39 percent; health group by 0.03 percent; transportation group by 1.69 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 0.43 percent; food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.24 percent; and personal care and other services group by 0.18 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group for information, communication, and financial services, and the education group were relatively stable.
90 cities calculated the inflation rate, 87 cities experienced inflation and 3 cities experienced deflation.
The calendar inflation rate (May 2022 against December 2021) was 3.34 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (May 2022 against May 2021) was 4.83 percent.
