Abstract

March 2023 Gini Ratio recorded at 0.449
  • In March 2023, the level of inequality in the expenditure of the population of D.I. Yogyakarta as measured by using the gini ratio indicator was 0.449. This figure decreased by 0.010 points when compared to the September 2022 gini ratio of 0.459. However, when compared to the March 2022 gini ratio of 0.439, there was an increase of 0.010 points.
  • The gini ratio in urban areas in March 2023 was recorded at 0.453, down from 0.468 in September 2022. When compared to the March 2022 gini ratio of 0.446, there was still an increase of 0.007 points.
  • Meanwhile, the gini ratio in rural areas in March 2023 was recorded at 0.362. This shows an increase compared to the September 2022 gini ratio of 0.342 and the March 2022 gini ratio of 0.332.
  • Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent of the population is 15.6 percent.
  • the bottom 40 percent is 15.58 percent. When broken down by region, in urban areas the figure is 15.21 percent. As for rural areas, the figure is 19.76 percent.
