Abstract

In 2023, the rice harvest area is estimated at 105.39 thousand hectares with rice production of around 532.80 thousand tons of milled dry grain (MDG). If converted into rice for food consumption by the population, the rice production in 2023 is estimated at 302.65 tons.
The rice harvest area in 2023 is estimated at 105.39 thousand hectares, a decrease of 5.53 thousand hectares or 4.99 percent compared to the rice harvest area in 2022 which amounted to 110.93 thousand hectares.
Rice production in 2023 is estimated at 532.80 thousand tons of MDG, a decrease of 28.89 thousand tons of MDG or 5.14 percent compared to rice production in 2022 which amounted to 561.70 thousand tons of MDG. Rice production in 2023 for food consumption by the population is estimated at around 302.65 thousand tons, a decrease of 16.42 thousand tons or 5.14 percent compared to rice production in 2022 which amounted to 319.06 thousand tons.
