Abstract

  • Exports in March 2024 reached US$43.28 million, up 7.26 percent compared to the previous month.
  • Imports in March 2024 were worth US$9.24 million, down 7.51 percent compared to the previous month.
  • The export value of the Special Region of Yogyakarta in March 2024 reached US$43.28 million or up 7.26 percent compared to February 2024. Compared to March 2023, the export value increased by 3.96 percent.
  • The largest exports in March 2024 were to the United States, namely US$16.77 million, followed by Japan at US$5.03 million, and Germany at US$3.32 million. The contribution of the three reached 58.04 percent. Meanwhile, exports to the European Union were US$10.78 million and ASEAN was US$0.86 million.
  • The largest increase in exports in March 2024 compared to February 2024 occurred in non-knitted apparel at US$1.89 million. Meanwhile, the biggest decrease was in knitted goods at US$0.87 million.
  • By sector, agricultural exports in March 2024 rose 271.80 percent compared to February 2024. Meanwhile, exports of processed industrial products rose 6.56 percent. Compared to March 2023, agricultural exports fell 22.00 percent. On the other hand, exports of processed industrial products rose 4.28 percent.
  • By loading port province, the largest exports of the Special Region of Yogyakarta in March 2024 were sent via Central Java at 67.98 percent, followed by DKI Jakarta at 30.66 percent, D.I. Yogyakarta at 1.11 percent, East Java at 0.23 percent, and others at 0.02 percent. The import value of the Special Region of Yogyakarta in March 2024 reached US$9.24 million, down 7.51 percent compared to February 2024. Meanwhile, when compared to March 2023, the import value fell 30.47 percent.
  • The three largest import supplier countries in March 2024 were China at US$2.94 million, followed by Hong Kong at US$1.53 million, and South Korea at US$1.29 million. The largest decrease in imports from China was US$1.63 million and the largest increase from South Korea was US$0.68 million.
  • The three largest import commodity groups in March 2024 were knitted fabrics at US$1.81 million; artificial filaments at US$1.16 million; and layered woven fabrics at US$0.86 million. The largest decrease in imports of goods in March 2024 compared to February 2024 was locomotives and railway equipment at US$0.47 million.
  • According to the category of use of goods, the import value in March 2024 compared to the same period the previous year, consumer goods fell 42.17 percent, followed by raw/auxiliary materials down 31.88 percent. Meanwhile, capital goods rose 21.57 percent.
  • The trade balance of the Special Region of Yogyakarta in March 2024 experienced a surplus of US$34.04 million. This value is higher than the same period the previous year which recorded a surplus of US$28.34 million.
