Abstract

May 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province was 2.28 percent. The highest y-on-y inflation occurred in the City of Yogyakarta at 2.69 percent.
In May 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province was 2.28 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.11. Gunungkidul Regency was recorded to have experienced y-on-y inflation of 1.96 percent with a CPI of 105.31 and the City of Yogyakarta experienced y-on-y inflation of 2.69 percent with a CPI of 107.08.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in most expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages, and tobacco group by 5.33 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.89 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.31 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 1.01 percent; health group by 2.87 percent; transportation group by 0.50 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 1.06 percent; education group by 1.72 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 1.26 percent; and personal care and other services group by 5.10 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication, and financial services group experienced a decrease in the index by 0.16 percent. The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate in May 2024 was 0.08 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate in May 2024 was 0.81 percent.
