Abstract

  • In March 2024, the level of inequality in the expenditure of residents of D.I. Yogyakarta was measured using the Gini ratio indicator of 0.435. This figure decreased by 0.014 points when compared to March 2023 which was 0.449. The Gini ratio in March 2024 decreased by 0.024 points when compared to September 2022 (0.459).
  • The Gini ratio in urban areas in March 2024 was recorded at 0.440 or decreased compared to the Gini ratio in March 2023 which was 0.453. When compared to the Gini ratio in September 2022 which was 0.468, there was a decrease of 0.028 points.
  • Meanwhile, the Gini ratio in rural areas in March 2024 was recorded at 0.349. This condition shows a decrease when compared to the Gini ratio in March 2023 which was 0.362 and an increase when compared to the Gini ratio in September 2022 which was 0.342.
  • Based on the World Bank's inequality measure, the distribution of spending in the bottom 40 percent group is 16.05 percent. If detailed by region, in urban areas the figure is recorded at 15.77 percent. As for rural areas, the figure is recorded at 20.06 percent.
