Abstract

  • Exports in January 2024 reached US$40.18 million, down 14.49 percent compared to the previous month.
  • Imports in January 2024 were valued at US$13.88 million, up 11.40 percent compared to the previous month.
  • The export value of D.I. Yogyakarta in January 2024 reached US$40.18 million, down 14.49 percent compared to December 2023. Compared to January 2023, the export value increased by 9.13 percent.
  • The largest January 2024 exports were to the United States at US$17.20 million, followed by Germany at US$4.93 million and Japan at US$3.23 million. The contribution of the three reached 63.12 percent. Meanwhile, exports to the European Union amounted to US$10.36 million and ASEAN amounted to US$0.90 million.
  • The biggest decline in exports in January 2024 against December 2023 occurred in non-knitted apparel amounting to US$9.66 million. While the largest increase was furniture, home lighting amounting to US$0.81 million.
  • By sector, exports of agricultural products in January 2024 increased by 72.00 percent compared to December 2023. Meanwhile, exports of processing industry products fell by 14.96 percent. Compared to January 2023, exports of agricultural products increased by 186.67 percent. Meanwhile, exports of processing industry products increased by 8.40 percent.
  • According to the province of the port of loading, the largest exports of D.I. Yogyakarta in January 2024 were sent through Central Java by 77.23 percent, followed by DKI Jakarta 20.68 percent, D.I. Yogyakarta 1.54 percent, and East Java 0.52 percent. The import value of D.I. Yogyakarta in January 2024 reached US$13.88 million, up 11.40 percent compared to December 2023. Meanwhile, when compared to January 2023, the import value increased by 4.20 percent.
  • The three largest supplier countries of imported goods in January 2024 were China with US$6.23 million, then Hong Kong US$3.50 million and South Korea US$0.92 million. The largest increase in imports from Hong Kong was US$1.31 million and the largest decrease from the United States was US$1.84 million.
  • The top three import commodity groups in January 2024 were knitted fabrics at US$3.03 million; artificial filaments at US$1.79 million; and coated woven fabrics at US$1.27 million. The largest increase in imports of goods groups in January 2024 compared to December 2023 was artificial filaments at US$0.70 million.
  • According to the use of goods, the value of imports in January 2024 compared to the same period the previous year, consumer goods increased by 23.23 percent. While raw / auxiliary materials fell 4.42 percent. Meanwhile, capital goods increased by 245.71 percent.
  • D.I. Yogyakarta's trade balance in January 2024 experienced a surplus of US $ 26.30 million. This value is higher than the same period the previous year which recorded a surplus of US $ 23.50 million.
